Minor League (Ages 9–10)
Minor League is an instructional, player-pitch league that builds on the fundamentals taught in our Rookie divisions. Designed for players ages 9 and 10, this level introduces more advanced elements of the game while keeping the focus on learning, growth, and fun.
Key Features:
- Player-pitch format: Kids pitch in all games, gaining valuable experience on the mound.
- Game rules expand to include walks, strikeouts, and limited base stealing.
- Score is kept, and team standings are tracked throughout the season.
- End-of-season playoffs give teams a chance to compete in a fun, tournament-style finish.
- Teams are formed via a draft by participating coaches to help create balanced rosters.
- Home and away games are played against other Blackhawk teams, as well as teams from Beaver, Central Valley, and Riverside.
The goal of Minor League is to provide a positive and competitive environment where players of all skill levels can continue building their baseball knowledge and confidence, preparing them for the transition to Little League.
